Gonna be honest here, I haven't been as into RP as I used to be; other things have been occupying my attention. As a result, I'm pretty much only play on the weekends now. Just letting people know in case they've been wondering!

More canon-reviewing. As before, there is no mind-shocking analysis here. It's mostly me pointing out things that I find interesting or had forgotten about.

( One Piece Chapters 42 through 75 )

BEHOLD! HOLIDAY GIFTS THAT INVOLVED LOTS OF BRAIN EFFORT ON MY PART or I wimped out and just said that Usopp got you food he swiped from Sanji. Usopp doesn't have a lot of money because Nami is tightfisted so most of these gifts are handmade or offers to do something. However, all of Usopp's drawings are done very well and Sanji's food is, of course, excellent.

Ace - A picture of Luffy and Ace as kids, having fun. Well, Ace has a scowl on his face but you know in his heart that he's having fun.
Anemone - A picture of Usopp being surrounded by cakes and candy while Anemone sits off to the side, sad and alone and hungry because Usopp isn't sharing because she is forever mean to him.
Bowser - Some Sanji sugar-free cookies that Usopp scorched up a bit with a blow torch. For some reason, Usopp thinks that likes his food scorched? Yeah, I dunno.
Brook - A picture of a pile of fancy panties, the really racy stuff.
Chie - A picture of Chie doing her kickboxing training and a small bag of Sanji's sugar-free brownies.
Chopper - A wooden doll made to look like a miniature Chopper. When a button is pressed on it's back, it poofs out to guard point. (Awhile back, Usopp made all the crew little dolls of themselves so here's the one he made for Chopper.) Also, a copy of the SUPER SECRET PLANS for Pirates Docking 9: Huge Usoppian Giant.
Demyx - A home-made whoopee cushion filled with individually wrapped pieces of sugar-free fudge.
Franky - SUPER SECRET PLANS for Pirates Docking 9: Huge Usoppian Giant.
Jaina - A piece of paper that reads, "Good for one day of inventions or robot help from Usopp."
Jubilee - A bag of Sanji cookies, a bag of Sanji brownies, a bag of Sanji fudge, and a bag of Sanji cupcakes. Also a picture of Jubilee and Usopp in an eating contest...WITH USOPP CLEARING WINNING YES.

Takeru - I totally blanked on this one, sorry. Takeru gets an action drawing of his creating a fireball with his magic writing abilities.
Toboe - A festive felt wolf scarf to match the earmuffs that Usopp gave Toboe a long time ago. Also, a piece of paper that reads, "Good for one day of Wolf Help from Usopp."
Toothless - A handmade felt scarf that's big enough for Toothless to wear around his neck. The scarf is purple so it won't throw off the dragon's color-scheme too much.
Vanya - A ten-page pamphlet entitled The Amazing and Heroic Adventures of the Strawhat Crew: As Experience by One Captain Usopp. The pamphlet is not 100% truthful regarding Captain Usopp's own part in the adventures.
Zoro - A piece of paper that reads, "Good for one day with Usopp as a guide around camp." Also a how-to guide on how to give gifts, written by Gift-Giver Usopp.

So I am canon-reviewing in an attempt to freshen up Usopp's voice and get out of my slump. (Although, posting last week helped me quite a bit already.) As I review, I thought I'd type up any special observations I make as I read. WARNING: I'm awful at text analyzation so don't expect Earth-Shattering Theories.

FYI, Usopp is no longer dressed in his Thriller Bark outfit and thus I have broken every October thread ever changing his icons back to normal. SORRY. I'll try to stop doing these all-icon switches that I love so much.

( My initial thoughts on Timewarp!Usopp )

*Oh, the hiatus disease. It can strike anyone at a moment's notice and tends to turn their characters into weird things. Like statues! Or stuffed animals! Or dolls!*

*But some people get turned into the most horrifying balloon ever seen. That's right, attached to one of the railings on the Thousand Sunny, there's a huge fat balloon of Usopp. It's easily as big as a car and very visable to anyone within seeing distance. The string is weighted down with a small bag full of Lead Stars and Usopp himself seems to have vanished into thin air. Or, in this case, fat air.*

*Completely unrelated, there's a pitcher full of green sludge-like liquid on one of the counters in the Mess Hall. It's not something for someone for the faint of heart to drink. Next to the pitcher is an open notebook. On the open page, not in Inui's hand, the words "Please record juice reactions" are written. Do you dare?*

*By the lake, there's something strange going on. A large bubble has appeared and seems to be floating very lazily up towards the barrier. The reason why it's moving so slow might have something to do with the loud-mouthed, long-nosed lying sniper who is currently caught in said bubble and flailing in said bubble.*

Usopp has somehow surpassed 15,000 comments. Whoa. I can't believe he's stuck around so long. Number Five hasn't a hope at reaching that number of comments.

The last time I did an Impressions meme was almost a year ago so I think doing another one is a good idea. Have at! If Usopp has talked to you for any length of time, he definitely has an opinion of you. Hell, I'll even through Number Five into the mix if anyone cares.

Last weekend, I rewatched the Navarone filler to try and find more material for Usopp icons because I'm tired of my current ones. But instead of finding icon material, I spent most of the time taking silly screencaps halfway through my rewatch because I had forgotten how absolutely FABULOUS the Navarone filler is. It's filler done right with true to the main story characterization, interesting plot, crazy antics, serious things going down and well-developed filler characters. And it's only about ten episodes, which makes it easy to re-watch.

Related to the movie, I want to point people here. radiopowered uploaded the movie OST and some movie 10 art! Everyone's mafia outfits will never stop being amazing. Also, I am really digging Brook's sixties styled outfit. However, I am really not digging Usopp's gourd hat. Or Chopper's pink bear outfit. I get that he's the cute One Piece character but. Just. No. Franky's banana hat can stay, though, because banana hats are hilarious.

I love One Piece so, so much.

On the One Piece LJ community it was pointed out that it looks like that Viz is going to release omnibuses of the One Piece volumes. At least, Right Stuf has an entry for the first omnibus here and for three more omnibuses elsewhere. I am SUPER EXCITED for this because this means I can buy 600 pages of One Piece at a time for about $11 a pop.

Also, I want to link this post, mostly because of the cute picture of Brook and Chopper, and the picture of Zoro riding a unicorn.

I play Usopp and Number Five. I'm pretty tired but in the face of "everyone else is doin' it", I crumble like cake.

For the next two weeks at least, I won't be playing during the weekdays or weeknights. It's become crunch time at work and my energy level has been steadily dropping; it'll be easier if I don't have to think about tagging posts or continuing threads during the week.
